ABOUT
Hi there and Welcome, I’m Anna!
This house has been my home for more than 20 years and during this time it has changed and transformed, like my life has. During the winter months my Father is here with me, however for the rest of the year I live here alone so I thought I’d start sharing it with people who fancy spending a few days in this breathtaking corner of Italy.
I would like to point out that I do not have any previous experience in the field so I shall therefore follow my instinct and heart, with above all respect towards anyone I will host: I wish for it to be a mutual delight, easy and true.
I will try to accomodate any requests as best as I can. I love this house, therefore I only ask for the respect to be mutual.
It’s a house full of objects meaningful to me, memories, it’s a lively house and one to be lived in.
Why “Zizzihome”? (It’s a bit of a long story) “Zizzi” comes from the love of my life, my son Filippo who’s happily living in London.
“Home” for its intrinsic meaning: not just “house or building” but also “heart and family”.
I look forward to welcoming you and I apologise in advance for any mistakes I might make, I am always open to helpful criticism because I wish, despite the age, to grow and better myself.
See you soon, I hope!
Our Rooms
Two “spaces” are available. I much prefer to use that term because they are not just “rooms”. I thought that for anyone who wishes to enjoy a few days on holiday having their own space is vital. Space means freedom, freedom to breathe without feeling suffocated between four walls, and without having to struggle to get around the bed.
I offer: the “Multicolor” and the “Jonathan” Spaces. The first one, it’s in the name, is lively and full of colour. The second one is dedicated to one of my favourite books: “Jonathan Livingston Seagull”. They both have a bedroom (with a french double bed), a living room, a corridor and a bathroom. The “Multicolor” space also has a separate entrance and it’s on the upper ground floor. The “Jonathan” space is on the first floor and its access is through the kitchen/breakfast room. This of course doesn’t imply less privacy, I guarantee it. In both spaces you’ll find everything necessary for a tea, coffee or infusion; and a fridge for your drinks and flat screen TV (Netflix).
But I’ll try my best to always be there for any of your additional requests and needs.

THINGS TO DO
The location of the house is pretty strategic, in the hamlet called Legro.
It’s a 3 minute walk to Orta-Miasino’s train station; a 20 minute walk (Km. 1.8) to Orta’s Old Town Centre and a 13 minute walk to the equipped beach also Bar/Restaurant/Pizzeria “Luci sul Lago”.
It’s pointless here talking at length about the beauty of Orta: it simply is a stunning place! A few minutes away from “Villa Crespi”, stunning hotel famous for its internationally known Chef Antonio Cannavacciuolo, and literally a few meters away from the Pub/ Birreria “Il Cantuccio”.
From Legro lovely walk paths take you through the nearby woods where you’ll stumble across breath taking views of the lake.
One must not forget that Legro has for years been part of a national circuit of “Paesi Dipinti” (Painted villages). It hosts an open air art gallery dedicated to cinema filmed on the Lake and in the region. My house presents a painting dedicated to the german movie “Jacob und Adele” by Hans – Jurgen Togel. The painting is also framed by a photographic film with portraits of Piero Chiara, Gianni Rodari, Mario Saldati e Augusto Mazzetti, all historically lovers of the place.
In 15/20 minutes you can get to the Mottarone (1491m): from it’s peak the view is breathtaking. It stretches from the Maritime Alps to Monviso, from Monte Rosa to the Swiss Alps all the way down the Po Valley where you can spot up to 7 lakes! It offers services like the Adventure Park , the Trail Park and Alpyland, a bobsled roller coaster that plummets you toward Lake Maggiore. Therefore amusement and fun for people of all ages!
